I’ve been googling a lot just to find out, how solve error 0×80070002 during Vista SP1 installation. There’s lots of pages and forums, which describes on how to fix it. I also try to contact Microsoft throught support.microsoft.com. They replied my support request fast enough (only have to wait a day).
They suggested me to disable all non MS services and startup programs prior to SP1 installation. Done it and still get the same error code. Replied the support people and they said, I should make inplace upgrade over my existing Vista. They convinced me, that this inplace upgrade only overwrite all Vista system files but not my configuration or installed program.

Been using Vista Business for a week now and I think I need new CPU. But since it’s a Socket A CPU, upgrading will be wasting money. But for gaming I’m still using XP Pro. Never tried gaming on Vista. Maybe gonna try now (Half-Life Deathmatch on Valve’s Steam).
I never expected that my old AMD Athlon XP 2400+ based PC would get 3.4 Vista Experience Index.

Finally the Vista version of Antivir is released. In the announcement it supposed to be yesterday.
The new version can be found in www.free-av.de for the German version and www.free-av.com for the English version. Just downloaded the German version, uninstaled AVG and installed Antivir. Now I can feel save
Beside it supports Vista, it can revealed rootkits too. Don’t sure if it’s a new feature. But it nice one. One more thing I like from Antivir. It creates only 2 (two) additional processes. AVG needs 5 processes. It means less memory and less CPU usage
So guys.. for those who are looking for a free antivirus, I can only suggest you to get this Antivir and forget the rest.

just finished installing new RAM on both my notebook and PC. Both RAMs cost almost 130 Eur. I have been watching the price since last month and decided to buy them now.
I bought a 1GB MDT SO-DIMM PC2-677 (DDR2) for my notebook and a 1GB Qimonda PC400 (DDR1) for my PC. Now my notebook had 1280 MB (1024 and 256 MB) and my PC had 1536 MB (1024, 256, 256 MB) a weird pairing, right?
Windows Vista runs smoother now with 1280MB RAM and I can also install Vista on my PC (gonna do this next week).
But now I’m thinking to take one 256MB from my PC, since they’re working at PC266. Both the 256MB RAM are PC333, but my old ASUS A7V333 can only run the RAM at PC333 if there are only 2 RAMs not 3. Haven’t try with some games. Gonna try now, just to check the compatibility.
Update [01.04.2007]:
Running 1,5GB RAM with PC 266 on my PC is not as stable as I expected. I took one 256MB out and it runs mote stable. I think, I’ll use 1280MB RAM just like on my notebook. I’ll install Windows Vista Business on next weekend.
